    • Hello Kimmy, i think that’s a great idea. You may join your heavy dupatta with net to get the half and half saree, but make sure your re-apply the border on the lower hem of saree as it needs to be all over in the total saree continuously. Using the dupata part as your pallu as the length is appropriate for the pallu drape part and net as the other half part for lower pleats and inner drape.

    • Hello Neeti,
Firstly you need to find the fabric which will go with this, not necessary it may be the same but one which compliments the whole look after combining this. If the saree has holes in the bottom hemline then you may add a parallel fabric in the whole bottom length wise, to make it look like a panel or border fabric. It should be a textured, embroidered so it compliments. The same if it on the pallu edge section, cut if off and add this fabric there and complete it with borders so it looks uniting. That’s it you can fix your sarees by this way.

Hope this helps Neeti, Thanks on asking our advice.

  1. Hello, I love these ideas. Buy where can I get a pattern for the two/three-way saree? Meaning, where, at what measurement point do I change the fabric?

    Thank you!

    • Hi,
Well it depends on the kind of fabric an design concept you require.
You may try adding a 12-15 inch width panel to the whole bottom length wise of saree or you may add the same closer to 1/2m on the outer side of the pallu. This totally depends on how you are styling your saree or if you are mending it need to focus on the damage section and hide or add fabric panels in that calculated phase.

  2. Hi ,
Im planning to make half n half saree with pallu n pleats using different fabrics..how many metres do I need for pallu and pleats…thanks

    • That depends on the kind of design concept you choose for half and half sarees. Normally a half and half saree has 2.25m-2.5m as the pallu fabric and rest as the lower drape fabric of the saree. This can be changed as per your needs of designing.
